Curiosity and Imagination are the foundation for STEM learning!
Stories bring information to life.
Stories ignite curiosity.
Stories fuel to our imagination.
Backed by research, we know that young people must enjoy, have interest, and be active agents in their own learning. Problem solving is a key skill in Stem Education, but teaching young people to problem solve before they’ve fostered curiosity and imagination is like watching rain evaporate before it hits the soil. This is why we focus on curiosity and imagination and let it organically lead to children solving the educational games we provide.
All of our books include a “Let’s Get Curious” educational section.
Moral lessons are integral to our stories. But what does emotional learning and STEM have to do with each other? As shown through hundreds of studies, the number one determinant of whether a child has higher education and positive life outcomes is not cognitive development in early years, but positive social and emotional development in early years. Social and emotional development has the most positive effects on executive functioning and academic skills.
This is why our stories teach conflict resolution, teamwork, courage, moral dilemmas, and persevering through opposition. Our Drone City stories are not just sprinkled with social and emotional lessons. We understand that social and emotional development IS STEM education.
Aspiration-raising activities are proven to provide hope in a positive
future, a purpose, and a sense of belonging in this big, wide, world.
This is why we tailor our content to show how STEM are accessible
to all. From mathematics and the arts to space exploration and
environmental sciences, we highlight that there is a place for
everyone in STEM. Showing a child how their passion can translate
into a career can be life changing. Our approach has shown
remarkable results, especially in engaging SEND students and those
from disadvantaged backgrounds, proving the transformative power
of our program.
The reason we centre drones in our workshops is because the
drone industry encompasses the diversity of tech. We showcase first
hand stories from companies which are using drones to study
marine life, plant trees, explore space, film live football and F1 races,
and to push the barriers of physics in drone racing! STEM careers
are not just for those who are skilled and interested in Maths and
Sciences, but also for those who are gifted in research, art, piloting,
and more!
