Jennett’s Park Primary: From Pilots to Programmers!
We were thrilled to return to Jennett’s Park Primary School this year after first visiting in October 2023 with our Piloting Workshop. This time, we brought something new—the Coding Workshop, where students learned to program drones for real-world missions, just like medical delivery drones navigating disaster zones.
Students tackled hands-on challenges using DroneBlocks, applying math, geometry, and problem-solving skills while discovering how drones are transforming industries from emergency response to aerospace engineering. Most importantly, they gained confidence in their own ability to code—a skill many had never tried before!
As part of our visit, Jennett’s Park students also took part in our latest survey, helping us measure the impact of our workshops on children’s confidence, aspirations, and self-belief. Across our programs, we’ve seen remarkable results:
🚀 43% increase in girls’ confidence in coding
🚀 66% increase in girls seeing themselves as future software engineers
🚀 27% decrease in anxiety about the future
