Charlbury Camp 2024: A High-Flying STEM Adventure!
This August, Charlbury Camp 2024 was an action-packed, four-day STEM experience where over 50 students took on the exciting world of drone design, engineering, coding, and piloting! From hands-on workshops to outdoor challenges, students had the chance to develop their skills, unleash their creativity, and dive into the future of drone technology.
🚀 Design & Engineering: Students designed their own drone companies, thinking like real-world innovators as they built their Lego drones and learned about drone anatomy.
💻 Coding a Drone: Using DroneBlocks, students coded autonomous drone missions, simulating emergency medical deliveries between hospitals—just like the drones transforming real-world healthcare.
🏁 Piloting & Competition: The camp ended with an exciting knockout-style drone piloting competition, testing precision, control, and teamwork.
🌳 Capture the Code: Our outdoor STEM spin on Capture the Flag had students racing to retrieve and decrypt “drone codes” before the opposing team, reinforcing their problem-solving skills in a high-energy challenge!
This year’s camp was about more than just flying drones—it was about building confidence, inspiring future careers, and showing students that they have what it takes to be innovators. We can’t wait to soar even higher next year!
